Part Time/Full Time Historic Interpreter

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities

Under higher level supervision the Park & Recreation Aide will work directly with visitors and groups to interpret the history of the site and the continuity of Hodinöhsö:ni’ people and traditions today. May help run front desk, take admissions, assist with cleaning and maintenance of the office, gallery, bark longhouse, and restrooms, park operations and traffic control, as needed.

Title: Park & Recreation Aide 4 $11.67/hour

  • Five week lag payroll
  • Eligible for healthcare insurance, CSEA Dental, and CSEA vision eligible upon hire with 42 day waiting period
  • Option to join the Retirement System
  • Paycheck direct deposit option
  • Annual two week mandatory break

Type of Appointment: 

  • Hourly position 
  • Work Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Part Time Work Days: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday
  • Full Time Work Days: Wednesday-Sunday

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid New York State Driver's License

Operating Needs:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver's license
  • Must be able to follow written direction, record and document required information and communicate verbally
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and park patrons
