Life of the Seneca
This presentation will cover the formation of the Haudenosaunee Culture, specifically the Senecas at Ganondagan. It will include the importance of the construction of the Bark Longhouse. Everyday life in the Bark Longhouse of the 1600's will be explained.
Interpreters may share a variety of items from the Bark Longhouse such as furs, felt hats, bone tools, cornhusk items, wooden bowls and spoons with the clan symbols and trade items.
Fee: $150 per classroom of 25 students
Classtime: 45 minutes

Too far away to come here yourself? You can take a guided virtual tour with one of Ganondagan's interpretive staff! We will give you an up close look at some of our historical reproductions then take you on a tour in the gallery. We can connect with you on either Skype or Zoom.

The Storytellers Circle
Find out for yourself how the power of stories can educate and excite learners of all ages. Traditional stories not only entertain but teach important lessons to their listeners. Take this opportunity to have our Native American Interpreters tell stories to your class or group.
Fee: $125.00 per classroom of 25 students

Uses of the Whitetail Deer
Learn the importance of the white tail deer to the Hodinöhsö:ni’ peoples from a valuable source of food to unique and clever tools created from the bones. The furs used as a wrap to keep you warm in cold weather and a blanket for your bed, to beautiful tanned clothing and moccasins.
Learn the value of the antlers, hoofs, eyes, brains, internal organs, etc.
The Interpreter will bring numerous examples of the varied uses of the deer.
Fee: $150 per classroom of 25 students

Cornhusk Doll Workshop
This workshop will present the importance of corn to the Seneca people and its many uses.
The instructor will bring many different examples of cornhusk items to the classroom.
Your class will hear the story of The No Face Cornhusk Doll and construct their own individual doll.
Fee: $200 per classroom of 25 students

A Bag of Stories Workshop
A perfect workshop for Kindergarten through 1st grade. Students will make their own felt storyteller's pouch and have a memento to put inside it to remind them of the stories that they heard that day.
Fee: $175 per classroom of 25 students

Professional Development for Educators
Presented by The First Voice Interpreters of Ganondagan
The First Voice Interpreters will help educators better understand Seneca life and the meaning of stories of the Hodinöhsö:ni’ through in-service programs.
Onöndowa’ga:’ : People of the Great Hill
This workshop will give educators a deeper understanding of the Hodinöhsö:ni’ Confederacy and the formation of the Six Nation's League of the Iroquois.
Clan systems, social life, stereotypes and current issues will be discussed.
Submit a list of questions from educators prior to the workshop to make the two hours meaningful and useful.
Fee: $250.00 per classroom of 25 educators
Class time: 2 hours
